R is a statistical software package that is capable of performing statistics- and probability-related calculations, creating graphics and data summaries, and running statistical inference tests.
Many introductory statistics courses use R to help with calculations, make graphs, or carry out inferential tests.
The purpose of this site is to provide undergraduate-level statistics students with resources to help them install and use R so that they can use it effectively and efficiently in their statistics courses.
This site also provides resources to help students install and use RStudio, which is an integrated development software (IDE) for R.
Please use the menus at the top of the page to view guides for R and RStudio installation and use.
This guide is mainly for use by people who are just starting with R and plan to use it to the extent that it is used in most lower-level undergraduate statistics courses. Thus, only the very basic capabilities of R are presented here.
